Description

These woven blankets are made in the Huaraz area. They are woven into large panels. These can already be used in many different ways, for example as a baby blanket or as a table or bedspread. The woven fabrics are also processed into various products (e.g. bags), which creates an even broader range of woven consumer goods.

Huaraz, the place where the ceilings are made, is located in the northern part of Peru at an altitude of 3052 m. The city is located in the Callejón / Huaylas valley at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. The 40 km wide valley runs for almost 200 km between Cordillera Blanca (White Mountains) and Cordillera Negra (Black Mountains). The highest mountain is Hascaran with 6768 m.
